With a majority of election day voting total released, several races are heading to a runoff in May including district clerk and Harris County Board of Education, Place 7. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
The details
In the Democratic primary results, there are 240 out of 275 voting precinct reporting as of the morning of March 4. In the race for Harris County attorney, Abbie Kamin held a narrow lead with 145,874 votes compared to Audrie Lawton Evans with 139,730 votes.
In the race for Harris County district clerk, Darrell Jordan Jr. and Jose "Alex" Maldonado are heading to a runoff election after eight candidates sought the Democratic party nomination.
In the Republican primary, 265 out of 275 voting precincts are reporting, and Mike Wolfe gained 86,934 votes to Lynda Sanchez, who held an initial lead in early voting, with 83,585 votes.
In the race for place 7 on the Harris County Board of Education, Denise Dick and Beverly Barrett are headed to a runoff election after receiving 68,468 and 48,522 votes, respectively, after neither received a majority of votes. The third candidate in the race, Madison Guillory, received 40,727 votes.

With early voting results released from Harris County, a number of candidates are either showing early leads or narrow margins in various races. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
The big picture
In the March Republican primary election, there were two major county level races that were contested. For Harris County clerk, Lynda Sanchez and Mike Wolfe have a tight race with Sanchez getting 54,385 votes and Wolfe receiving 54,056 votes out of early voting. For Harris County Board of Education Place 7, Denise Dick holds a lead in early voting numbers with 47,099 votes compared to 23,616 votes for Madison Guillory and 30,090 for Beverly Barrett.
In the Democratic primary, Abbie Kamin holds a narrow margin for county attorney with 92,994 votes compared to 92,879 for Audrie Lawton Evans out of early voting results. In the race for district clerk, eight candidates are on the ballot, with Darrell Jordan Jr. and Jose "Alex" Maldonado getting 37,959 votes and 32,306 respectively. Stay tuned
