Eight Katy ISD high schools have been ranked among the best in the United States, according to a U.S. News & World report. The rankings include data on nearly 25,000 public high schools across the nation, placing the district in the top 17% nationally.

  • Katy High School
  • Mayde Creek High School
  • Morton Ranch High School
  • Paetow High School
  • Seven Lakes High School
  • Taylor High School
  • Tompkins High School

  • This year’s rankings include measurements that include college readiness, state assessment proficiency and achieving high graduation rates.
  • The 2023-24 Best High Schools are those whose students achieved exceptional scores on state assessments for math, reading and science.
  • The data used in the rankings is based on high schools that had a 12th grade enrollment of 15 students or greater during the 2020-21 school year.
