Candidates file to run for Montgomery mayor, council seats

The deadline to file for a place on the May 2 election ballot was Feb. 14. There are five candidates running for three Montgomery City Council positions: mayor, Place 2 council member and Place 4 council member.



The mayor and council members serve two-year terms, and the people elected to these positions will hold their offices until May 2022.

The city of Montgomery will also hold a special election May 2 for the position of Place 1 council member. The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is March 3.
