The Montgomery County Tax Office has extended its office hours as the deadline to pay property taxes approaches, according to a press release Jan. 16.
Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector Tammy McRae said in the press release all five tax offices will extend their hours to 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 29-31 for residents to pay their taxes in person. The deadline to pay property taxes is Jan. 31.
Residents can also pay online with e-Checks or debit or credit cards at www.mctotx.org, according to the press release. All payments submitted in the mail must be postmarked or received by or before Jan. 31 or face a penalty. Residents can also pay by phone by calling 1-800-351-7929. For residents paying in person, McRae recommended scheduling an appointment ahead of time for The Woodlands and Conroe office.
The tax office is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every weekday to assist taxpayers.
