Conroe transitions trash services with new provider beginning Oct. 1

Once delivered, residents are asked to place their Waste Management carts at the curb as usual, regardless of whether they are full or empty. After Waste Management completes its scheduled collection, the old carts will remain at the curb until the third-party company retrieves them, according to the city’s website.

According to the website, the transition may cause carts to remain curbside for extended periods until they are collected. Homeowners’ associations and management companies have been notified to help prepare for the temporary inconvenience.

City officials said they are aware of confusion circulating on social media and clarified several points for residents:

• Waste Management will continue service through September despite the delivery of Frontier carts.
• Residents who have not yet received carts or who received a different number than expected should contact the city of Conroe’s Utility Billing Department at [email protected].
• The number of Frontier carts delivered corresponds with the number of carts billed on the utility account.

Per the website, city officials said that the project is one of its largest service transitions in recent years and asked residents for patience as the rollout is completed.
