Gibbs replaces Collin Boothe, who left the position in November, Deputy City Administrator Nancy Mikeska said.
The details
Mikeska said the city received more than 25 applications, and Mayor Duke Coon then interviewed four applicants after Mikeska and City Administrator Gary Scott narrowed the pool.
“This is another one of those very important historic days for our city as we bring this team back together, a powerful team to lead our city forward,” Coon said.
Gibbs has a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, a master's of business administration, a master's of public administration and she also holds a certified government financial officer designation, Coon said. Gibbs will report to Scott as part of the city’s organizational chart, Scott said.
“I promise to devote myself to be one of your best assets as the CFO, and I'm here to make the city of Conroe shine,” Gibbs said.
