Residents within Conroe’s city limits are no longer being asked to voluntarily conserve water after City Administrator Gary Scott reinstated normal water use rules, according to an Oct. 30 news release.
The city cited the “seasonal reduction in water demand and the change in drought status for Montgomery County” as the reason for lifting the State 1 drought status, according to the news release.
The backstory
Conroe originally enacted Stage 1 water restrictions on Sept. 8, with portions of the city under Stage 2, for which water conservation is required, Community Impact previously reported. That Stage 2 drought was called off in mid-October.
