The winning candidates could not immediately be reached for comment after all of the results were reported by Montgomery County Elections, but an email news release from CAZ Consulting stated the candidates expressed gratitude to their voters.
“With the support of the community, the board’s new majority is ready to get to work on their key priorities: improving student outcomes, enhancing teacher work environments, and strengthening parent-teacher relationships," the statement read.
May posted on social media thanking her supporters.
“The four of us worked so hard to earn as many votes as we could. I am thrilled to have earned the majority votes, and am looking forward to serving my community for four years,” she wrote.
Chase, who did not win her bid for re-election, posted on social media her thanks to supporters as well.
“It has been an honor to serve as your trustee, and while the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for, I’m deeply grateful for every conversation, kind word, and volunteer who gave their valuable time and energy,” she said.
Williams also shared remarks in a Nov. 6 phone call saying he felt his slate of candidates was the best choice.
“I served 12 years on the board, I enjoyed every minute," he said. "I wish the district well, I wish all of the board members well; I hope nothing but the best for CISD going forward.”
