According to a May 4 Facebook post, after two years of operating, the beer garden Hound Hauz closed due to financial issues.

“Financially, it wasn't a success, but I'm proud of what we built,” the owners said via Facebook. “Hound Hauz was truly a one-of-a-kind neighborhood hangout, with a laid-back vibe that welcomed everyone, even your furry friends.”

The details

Per the Facebook post, the beer garden was a staple in the community that supported local businesses with workshops, the 1486 Market and other community events.

The land where Hound Hauz resides holds an Airbnb available to book and has introduced Mimi's Sugar Shack, a snow cone stand.

Operating since June 10, the snow cone stand offers snow balls, frozen lemonade, iced tea, dirty soda, tacos and frito pies, according to the business's Facebook.
