Montgomery ISD students were welcomed to the district’s seventh elementary school—Creekside Elementary—for the first time on Aug. 15.

Major takeaways

A ribbon cutting for Creekside Elementary, which cost an estimated $43.49 million to build, was held Aug. 14. Students began the 2024-25 school year the next day.

MISD community members, teachers, students, parents and administrators attended the grand opening event.

“Being moved to a new school can be difficult as a parent when you've established roots in another campus,” Creekside Elementary Principal Shelby Smith said Aug. 14. “Thank you to the Creekside parents for trusting us in this process and sharing in our excitement of this opportunity for your students.”
