The Willis ISD board of trustees approved moving the May 2 bond elections to Nov. 3 during a special meeting March 27.

Trustees voted 6-0 in-person for postponing the election. The vote follows Gov. Greg Abbott’s March 18 proclamation, which gave local municipalities the ability to postpone elections.

The board called for a bond election Feb. 10, putting three propositions on the ballot: $100.15 million Proposition A, which focuses on school improvements; $62.35 million Proposition B, which includes a new football stadium; and $12.5 million Proposition C, which would fund a natatorium.
