Family-owned Lone Star Cheladas serves Magnolia


Lone Star Cheladas offers tacos; quesadillas; fish; wings; and a variety of beverages, such as cheladas, beer, daiquiris and Mexican Coca-Cola. Rodriguez said the eatery is also trying out new items, including burgers and crawfish, to see if they will become permanent additions to the menu.

Husband and wife serve up Asian cuisine at Magnolia Thai Restaurant

Magnolia Thai Restaurant features a variety of Asian-centered dishes, such as orange chicken, curry and pad thai. The restaurant also offers spring rolls, tom yum soup, salads and traditional Thai teas.

Shipping container-turned Hoppy Kitchen serves up food at Conroe brewery

Hoppy Kitchen owner Ryan Alworth said the restaurant began as a passion project for the longtime Conroe resident who loves his local brewery.

Alworth said he is proud to serve fresh pizza, burgers, fish and chips, and chili to the town his family has lived in for generations, and he does it out of a shipping container converted into a fully functional commercial kitchen.

Family-owned restaurant Zully’s Latin American Kitchen serves Willis community

Zully’s offers dishes such as rotisserie chicken, fajitas and a variety of soups. The menu also includes entrees, such as tacos al carbon, which is three corn tortillas with sauteed onions, avocado slices and pico de gallo served with rice and beans.

North Italia Waterway location modernizes Italian fare in The Woodlands

North Italia’s newest location in Texas aims to combine the homey feel of Italian fare with a modern, inviting environment fit for guests, according to Executive Chef Shawney Severns. Menu items include handmade pizzas and pastas and Severns’ favorite dish—the shrimp scampi.

Herb and Beet aims to blend healthy eating with Southern comfort

Owner E’leece Lorey said a staple of Herb and Beet is sourcing ingredients as locally as possible and making items in-house. Customers that come in are often surprised to see the offerings on the menu, such as brisket sandwiches, steak salads, and macaroni and cheese options.

Chill Milkshake and Waffle Bar offers sweet treats, grilled cheese, waffles in Magnolia

Kassie Boyd said she opened her first location of Chill Milkshake and Waffle Bar in Spring in 2013 and opened a second location on FM 1488 in Magnolia in December 2020, specializing in custom milkshakes made with Blue Bell ice cream.

The shop also sells specialty waffles and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches with cheeses, such as cheddar or muenster.
