The area surrounding League Line and Longmire roads is expected to see residential and commercial growth in the coming years.
Waterfront communities like the 181-acre Water Crest on Lake Conroe, developed by D.R. Horton, will add to the residential development of League Line Road. Once complete, Water Crest will feature 479 homes, acoording to the company.
In June, The Howard Hughes Corporation announced details about The Woodlands Hills, a 2,000-acre, master-planned community with residential and commercial amenities. The company also confirmed retail development is planned for the intersection of League Line and Longmire roads, and has space designated for home construction just north of that area.
Nancy Mikeska, city of Conroe director of community development, credits the growth along these roads to the area’s proximity to Willis and Conroe ISDs, as well as the area’s natural environment and rolling hills.
“In recent years, [League Line Road has] certainly been a hot area,” Mikeska said. “It has access to the lake, which is always attractive. It has the beautiful topography that part of Conroe is known for. I think other people have recognized that, and it is very attractive to citizens.”
