Like other Montgomery County cities, the city of Willis has fared well through the coronavirus pandemic, with a 10% increase in sales tax revenue in April 2020 as compared to April 2019.

According to numbers released June 10 by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Willis collected $221,455.99 in sales tax revenue in April 2020, a 10.38% increase from its April 2019 revenue.

Year to date, the city has collected $1,640,002.76. This is a 19.94% increase compared to its revenue at this point last year, which was $1,367,293.39.
