Montgomery County reported its 38th death related to COVID-19 on July 7, according to a daily case count released by the Montgomery County Hospital District.

A woman from Conroe in her 90s died in a local hospital. However, the Montgomery County Public Health District noted the woman had comorbidities, which means the presence of more than one chronic disease or condition.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County increased by 104 from 2,550 on July 6 to 2,654 on July 7. The daily case count reported July 6 included cases reported over the three day weekend, from July 4-6.

Active cases of COVID-19 decreased from 1,061 on July 6 to 1,049 on July 7. Of the 1,049 active cases who are Montgomery County residents, 31 are in the hospital. Meanwhile, 1,567 people have fully recovered.


There are a total of 214 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Montgomery County hospitals, an increase of two since June 6. Of those, 53 are in ICU and 161 in general beds.
