Montgomery County reached a new high in seven-day new coronavirus case averages June 18, according to data from the county public health district and emergency management office. June 18 brought the fourth-highest number of new cases the county has seen, with 56 new cases since June 17. The total cases is now 1,484.
However, active cases decreased to 564. That number includes 16 hospitalizations of Montgomery County residents—a slight uptick from June 17's 11. Meanwhile, 887 people have fully recovered.
A June 18 case count update sent by the Montgomery County Public Health District stated: "COVID-19 is continuing to spread at a higher rate than we’ve seen in Montgomery County. To reduce the spread, it is imperative for residents to abide by CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] guidelines when in public places."
