During a regular meeting July 12, Montgomery City Council members discussed a possible single-family development that would add 329 homes, and the approved development and annexation agreements for a proposed 33-acre multifamily residential development slated for outside the city.

Richard Marek with Pulte Homes presented a plan to council for an 80-acre single-family residential development off FM 1097. A feasibility study for the development was presented in May, Community Impact Newspaper reported. The proposal included 329 estimated lots measuring 45 feet wide and 120 feet deep, which is smaller than the city's minimum lot size requirement of 75 feet wide. The homes would range in size from 1,400-2,700 square feet. Marek said home prices would range within the low $300,000s.

At the same meeting, council approved city staff and consultants to coordinate with Nantucket Housing, LLC and HCR Ventures regarding development and annexation agreements for a proposed 33-acre multifamily residential development that would be located behind Pizza Shack along Stewart Creek Road. The development would consist of 220 multifamily apartments and 165 senior living units.

No plans for development have been approved, and developers did not share a timeline for when construction could begin.
