Here are two approved items from Conroe City Council's March 24 meeting.

1. The council approved new restroom units to be built for Carl Barton Jr. Park, located at 2500 S. Loop 336 E., Conroe, to be put near the newer facilities such as the tennis and pickleball courts. The $143,385 budget would be funded by the capital improvements project.

2.The purchase of four vans for the city’s Americans with Disabilities Act complementary paratransit services was approved and will be funded by a 2020 grant to the bus and bus facilities program, using $354,900 of the $896,000. Transit program manager Shawn Johnson said at the workshop that ADA services are the city’s most popular on-demand service with over 500 riders a month. The city has two ADA vans and recently retired two others, so the new vans would replace the retired ones and provide an adequate spare ratio.
