Montgomery County's active COVID-19 cases grew by 6.6% over the weekend, from 4,974 as of Dec. 11 to 5,301 as of Dec. 14, according to data from the Montgomery County Public Health District. The number of active cases has increased every day since Nov. 17.
Total cases increased by 589, from 20,619 as of Dec. 11 to 21,208 as of Dec. 14. Of the new cases, 587 were tested prior to Dec. 1.
According to information from the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council, the numbers of COVID-19 patients in Montgomery County hospitals decreased slightly in this time frame, but the numbers of COVID-19 patients in ICUs rose slightly.
