The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce has named David Crowl to serve as its first-ever vice president.

Crowl served as the FBCC director of communications for five years before being named to his new role. Crowl said he sees his new position as a growth opportunity for both him and the chamber.

"It's a big move to give me the opportunity to move up in the chamber and to continue to work with everybody," he said.

Crowl is a graduate of the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management as well as a graduate of the Fort Bend Leadership Forum class. FBCC President Keri Schmidt said Crowl's dedication to the chamber is what earned him the title of vice president.

"[Crowl] has always served as a mentor to our new staff members and provides tremendous support to the entire team," Schmidt said.

Crowl will continue to oversee chamber programs including the Fort Bend Leadership Forum and the Governmental Relations Organization as well as oversee the chamber's day-to-day operations when Schmidt is unavailable. As of now, the FBCC is not pursuing candidates to fill the director of communications role, he said.

"I'm really honored [Schmidt] has a lot of confidence in me to help lead the staff," he said.
