Brothers Danny and Lee Baker opened uScore Soccer— an indoor soccer facility in Spring—in March 2014.
"My brother and I grew up in the area playing soccer, and we've always wanted to have a place to our own where we could have a bit more control over the timing of things and the programs we offer," Danny said.
Since opening the site along Stuebner Airline Road, Danny said uScore's leagues have seen remarkable growth.
"Our indoor leagues for adults and youth have been pretty popular," he said. "Our camps are always sold out. And then our outdoor league is probably the most surprising point of growth for us."
The outdoor leagues have about 600 players consisting of children ages 4–12, with the spring and fall leagues being especially popular, he said. Indoor leagues—which can have anywhere from four to eight teams for an eight-week league—have been more successful in the summer and winter.
The facility houses three main indoor fields, including a futsal court, while also leasing three outdoor soccer fields. The business offers training programs, classes and memberships as well as rents the facility out for events.
"We've talked about expansion and maybe moving over to the Cypress area and getting a second location," he said. "That's probably years away. We've got to walk before we can run."
