With its second anniversary approaching, boutique La La Rosie has seen a steady increase in both its customer and consigner base since opening.

The shop, run by mother-and-daughter duo Christine and Sara Meza, specializes in the resale of home decor items along with a selection of jewelry. However, items in stock are constantly changing according to trends, seasons and customer input, Christine said. Decor pieces range from antique to modern.

"We look for the eclectic things you won't find anywhere else," Christine said.

Future plans involve expanding inventory to keep up with growth, Christine said. She said she hopes to start bringing in more furniture pieces as well as chalk-based mineral paints from American Paint Company. The clay, toxin-free paint is used to repurpose furniture, she said.

The owners attribute their success to an ability to connect with customers and consigners, whether on style preferences or what is going on with family.

"We've laughed and cried with our customers," Sara said. "It's the true definition of retail therapy."

A two-year anniversary celebration is planned for Oct. 25. The event is themed "home sweet home" and will include raffles, sales, refreshments and the launch of American Paint Company paints.
