The median sales prices of homes and the number of homes sold both rose in three of five local ZIP codes in Bellaire, Meyerland and West U in October.

The breakdown

The median sales price of homes rose in ZIP codes 77096, 77401 and 77025, which include portions of the Meyerland area, Bellaire and near Braeswood Boulevard. The most significant increase was in the 77025 ZIP code, which rose by 107.88%, jumping from an average of $360,781 in October 2023 to $750,000 in October 2024. The median home price in 77401 also surged by 40%, shooting up from $871,500 to $1.2 million.

The two ZIP codes where homes were priced the highest last year—77005 and 77030—decreased, with homes near the Texas Medical Center and Houston Museum District dropping from $1.6 million to $1 million. However, that area also saw the number of homes sold double.
The number of homes sold also rose in the 77025 and 77401 ZIP codes with 77005 staying stagnant. Homes in 77096, the Meyerland area, saw the only decrease in homes sold, dropping from 96 homes sold to 21.

The average number of days a home spent on the market before selling ranged from 38 to 48 days in most local ZIP codes in October. In the 77025 ZIP code, that number grew from 36 days in 2023 to 195 days in 2024. Homes spent less time on the market in three ZIP codes.
Of the total 80 homes sold in October, nearly half were a million dollars or more, with no homes sold for less than $250,000.
