Texas Medical Center’s Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus is officially home to a new hotel.
The dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites by Hilton, 6840 Almeda Road, Houston, opened Sept. 23 offering a total of 300 rooms plus 3,600 square feet of shared, flexible meeting and event space, announced Houston-based hotel development and management company American Liberty Hospitality in a Sept. 16 news release.
“We’re honored to be on the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus, surrounded by some of the top medical institutions on the planet,” said Nick Massad III, ALH senior vice president of development, in a news release. “Our hotel has been designed to meet the special needs of this unique medical community and was developed, in part, to enhance the campus and help better serve our cherished vets.”
Flanking a large central lobby, each hotel offers its own lounge and dining areas. Home2 Suites will offer complimentary grab-n-go continental breakfast to all Home2 guests at the Home2 restaurant that also serves coffee and tea throughout the day. Hilton Garden Inn, meanwhile, offers a full-service restaurant and bar as well as event meeting space. 346-433-8300. www.hilton.com/en
