All Klein ISD schools and facilities will be open May 20, with the exception of Klein Intermediate School, which will remain closed, district officials said May 19.

According to an announcement posted on the Klein Intermediate website, full power and services have not yet been restored to the campus.

"We are working with CenterPoint Energy to restore all services to Klein Intermediate," the announcement reads. "Our ability to reopen your school safely is dependent on the restoration of power and the review of our mechanical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, phone systems, technology and food service. We appreciate your patience as you await further information."

Officials said an additional email will be sent to Klein Intermediate families and staff by 3 p.m. on May 20 regarding plans for May 21.

Houston ISD on May 19 posted a list of 204 of its 274 schools that will be open on Monday, May 20. HISD officials said more schools may be added to the list, depending largely on where power is restored. District officials said they would provide updates at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD also posted on social media and on its website it will be closed on May 20.
