Residents throughout the Houston area can meet with law enforcement, public safety and community organizations during National Night Out on Oct. 6.
What is it?
National Night Out is an annual family-friendly community event that lets residents connect with law enforcement, promote public safety and strengthen relationships. Each community hosts its own event, and activities vary at each location. Attending National Night Out events is free.
Here is a list of National Night Out events happening:
Houston Heights
The Houston Heights Odd Fellows Lodge No. 225 is hosting a National Night Out celebration where local first responders, city representatives and community organizations will connect with neighbors. Residents will learn more about the resources available in the community.

Sawyer Yards Art Alley
The Arts District will host National Night Out and highlight local businesses, artists and organizations. Residents can expect food provided by local vendors, activities including a racing simulator, arts and crafts for children and community resource information.

Montrose Collective
The Montrose Collective will partner with the Avondale Association to host National Night Out in its paseo. The event will include activities and music, and will also feature the Houston Public Library, along with Houston Police Department officers.

East Montrose National Night Out
At the event organized by the East Montrose Civic Association, residents can participate in a potluck by bringing a dish, and children can enjoy activities provided by the Houston Public Library and Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County.

West University Place
At Colonial Park, West University Place officials invite locals to attend the city’s annual National Night Out Community Block Party. Residents and families can get an up-close look at West U first responder vehicles and equipment, as well as participate in a Paw Patrol-themed photo opportunity, a tug-of-war challenge and other fun activities.
Food trucks, vendor booths, bounce houses and a live DJ will be present. Attendees should note that the 4100 block of Byron Street will be closed after 4 p.m.

5:30-7 p.m.
City of Bellaire
The Bellaire Police and Fire Departments will be visiting neighborhood block parties throughout the community to strengthen relationships and connect with residents. During these visits, residents may ask first responders questions and share insights related to making the city a safer place to live, work and play. Attendees are advised to be aware of certain road closures throughout the city.
