Firehouse Subs originated in Jacksonville, Florida, where two former firefighter brothers founded the restaurant. Since 1994, the brand has expanded to over 1,250 restaurants—including the sub shop along Bellaire Boulevard.

The counter-service restaurant serves a variety of both hot and cold specialty submarine sandwiches.
In addition to sandwich options, such as sweet and spicy meatball and tuna salad, Firehouse Subs recently brought back its King’s Hawaiian pork and slaw sandwich with slow-smoked pulled pork.
