“Our customers have been asking us for years to open a Lick scoop shop in the Houston area, and we’re so thrilled to expand our brand into two bustling areas of the city," CEO and co-founder Anthony Sobotik said in a news release. "We are excited to be joining the Houston community, filled with rich culture in culinary arts and an innovative food economy."
The first ice cream shop to open, located at 3821 Bellaire Blvd., Ste. 3D, is hosting its soft opening until July 15, with its grand opening slated for July 16, which also falls on National Ice Cream Day, according to a news release. During the soft opening and grand opening event at the first location in Braes Heights, the hours will be:
July 11-13, noon-6 p.m.
July 14-16, noon-9 p.m.
Free scoops will be offered to guests on National Ice Cream Day from 3-5 p.m.
Lick Honest Ice Creams uses locally sourced and sustainably grown and harvested ingredients in their wide range of flavors, including vegan options, according to its website. It also said they don’t use artificial colors or flavors, high fructose corn syrup or preservatives in its ice creams.

Ice cream flavors include:
Caramel salt lick
Coffee with cream
Fresh mint and chocolate chunk
Goat cheese
Thyme
Honey
Texas sheet cake
Summer flavors, as stated in the news release, were inspired by flavors and traditional recipes of Texas. This year's summer flavors will include:
Peach margarita
Cilantro lime
Peach leaf graham crunch
Vegan spicy coconut peanut and strawberry swirl
Vegan banana pudding
Alongside the July opening, Lick Ice Creams is collaborating all month with nonprofit Out Youth to raise awareness and donations for LGBTQIA+ youth in Texas. Customers who donated $20 or more in July will receive a free scoop card, according to the release.
