A luxury Pilates studio opened in Houston's West University Place neighborhood on Jan. 30, according to the studio's social media post.

The details

House of Core is a luxury Pilates studio founded in California, with West U being its first franchised location outside of California.

The 1,600-square-foot space offers athletic-style classes and advanced equipment—including reformers, chairs and towers—in semi-private suites.

According to previous Community Impact reporting, each class at House of Core Houston will be capped at eight participants to ensure personalized, one-on-one attention in a small group setting to maximize results. The studio will offer 12 signature classes including:
  • Killercore: an intense ab-focused workout
  • Smokehouse65: an ambitious full body workout with an "extra demanding" 15-minutes of core
  • Hot house: a 50-minute hot Pilates session in a heated studio to promote flexibility and detoxification
Co-founders Kim Yates and Taylor Hedden said in previous reporting that they want the studio to be a welcoming environment where members and guests can have a private training experience with classes that range from challenging full-body workouts to restorative and rejuvenating sessions.
