Gremillion on Sunset, formerly known as Gremillion & Co. Fine Art, Inc., located in Rice Village at 2501 Sunset Blvd., Houston, hosted an event Sept. 14 to celebrate the gallery and multiuse space's first phase of renovations nearing completion.

What happened?

As nearly a year's worth of renovations at the mixed-use arts space will soon be completed, Gremillion hosted a launch party Sept. 14 to showcase the gallery's inaugural exhibit, "Merging Worlds: Artistic Talents of Healing Physicians." According to a Sept. 19 news release, the exhibit, which is on display through Oct. 16, features the work of Houston-based doctors whose work offers insight into healing:
  • Dr. Frank Mahzari, an internal medicine specialist affiliated with River Oaks and Memorial Hermann hospitals
  • Dr. R. Joe Ybarra, an emergency and population health specialist
  • Dr. Kalif Alex Kendig, an emergency medicine physician affiliated with Houston Methodist Baytown and Oregon’s St. Charles Redmond Hospital
  • Dr. Kamran Boka, a Knoxville, Tennessee-based pulmonary and critical care physician who formerly taught and practiced medicine in Houston
Proceeds from the Sept. 14 exhibit opening benefitted Houston-based charity The Children’s Assessment Center.
