According to the latest update from CenterPoint Energy's website, a little more than 201,500 CenterPoint customers remain without power as of July 15. The Category 1 hurricane left more than 2.2 million Greater Houston-area customers without power at its peak July 8.
According to a July 15 news release, CenterPoint officials said they expect to have restored power to 98% of all affected customers by July 17.
“We know the remaining customers are counting on us and are committed to restoring power to all remaining customers able to receive it,” said Lynnae Wilson, senior vice president of CenterPoint, in a statement. “As we close in on the remaining outages, customers should ensure that there isn't damage to their weatherheads and are able to receive power."

A weatherhead is the point where overhead power enters the home or building. According to the release, if a weatherhead is damaged, a licensed electrician must make necessary repairs before crews can safely restore power to the residence. For customers who utilize an underground service, there may still be damages that may require servicing.
