Contractors are still working to widen Grissom Road from two to four lanes between Abigail Lane and West NASA Road in League City.

According to an October update from the city, the contractors have installed a new 60-inch storm sewer pipe from the Clear Creek outfall to the north side of Grissom Road. About 80% of a new 54-inch storm sewer pipe along the north side of the road has been installed.

Comcast and CenterPoint Energy have transferred their service out of the right of way to allow crews to continue installing sewer pipes.

The contractor has set a pace of placing about 600-700 yards of concrete weekly. Once all the sewer pipes are installed, crews will be able to expedite the work on the road.

Work on the $8.53 million project, funded by the city, began in April and is expected to finish by April 2023.Calder Road widening

Calder Road’s east side will be widened 8 feet from FM 517 to about 300 feet north to provide two southbound lanes on the approach to the FM 517 intersection. TxDOT plans to construct a signal at Calder and FM 517.
