More road closures planned for Bay Area starting this weekend

Bay Area drivers will have to contend with more road construction starting this weekend.

The Texas Department of Transportation will close FM 1764 and I-45 over the weekend to install storm sewer drainage along the intersection's feeder road, according to a city of La Marque press release.

Those traveling east on FM 1764 will have to turn south on FM 2004 and make a U-turn under I-45 before traveling back north and continuing east on FM 1764 or FM 2004. Drivers traveling west on FM 2004 will have to turn south onto the I-45 feeder road, turn back north on FM 2004 and then continue west on FM 1764.

This work is in addition to the I-45 southbound connector to FM 1764 and the FM 1764 northbound connector to I-45 both being closed through mid-November.

Additionally, starting Sept. 14 and running through Oct. 16, FM 2094 at Hwy. 146 will be closed every week from 9 p.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Friday.

The closure is for crews to construct the bridge foundations for the Hwy. 146 widening project. The League City Traffic Department will monitor traffic during the closures, according to a League City news release.

For those traveling on Hwy. 146, FM 2094 can be accessed by turning west on FM 518 until reaching FM 2094. For those traveling on FM 2094, Hwy. 146 can be accessed by traveling west on FM 2094, south on FM 270 and then east on Hwy. 96, according to the release.
