Drainage systems in League City along FM 518 will undergo major drainage improvements as soon as January.

The details

League City City Council voted unanimously at its Jan. 13 meeting to award $3.2 million in contracts to improve the drainage system along FM 518 and South Wesley Drive.

The contractor will begin work in January with a slated completion in July, according to city documents.



The cost

City officials awarded $2.8 million, plus a $284,000 work change order, to Houston-based construction company Environmental Allies for the work, as well as a $25,000 contract to engineering consultant Terracon Consultants, according to city documents.

The funds for the project will be taken from Community Development Block Grant and the 2020 Proposition A Drainage Bond Program, according to city documents.
