League City water customers can pay their bills more conveniently thanks to a streamlined redesign of the city's online utility billing portal.

What you need to know

The city redesigned its online billing portal in mid-June so residents will have less steps to pay their water bills, according to the city's newsletter and Communications Director Sarah Osbourne. The updated portal allows users to:
  • Compare water usage year over year
  • Use quick pay or enroll in recurring credit card payments
  • View and print billing statements
  • Link to a water tracker, which monitors water consumption
To create an account in the new portal, users will need their account number and customer number, which can be found on their utility bill.

Looking back

In January, City Council approved higher water and wastewater rates, including adjustments tied to meter size to help fund system improvements, Community Impact previously reported.

Base monthly service charges for standard residential meters increased from $8.26 to $9.08, and wastewater charges from $15.32 to $16.84, city documents show.
