League City City Council will consider several bids for asphalt restoration projects in the city at its Jan. 14 meeting, according to agenda documents.

City Council will consider two bids for design, bidding and construction phase services for the city’s asphalt streets rehabilitation project, including:

A $207,000 project with HR Green for pavement enhancements to:
  • Bern Street from Christopher Avenue to Smith Lane
  • Boden Street from Bern Street to Abeline Street
  • Austin Street from Texas Avenue to FM 270
A $80,000 project with HR Green for pavement enhancements to:
  • Clear Creek Avenue from E. Walker Street to E. Galveston Street


Community Impact previously reported that from fiscal year 2023-24 to FY 2027-28, League City will invest a total of $14 million in the asphalt project, according to city documents. The bulk of that money is for construction, while roughly $1 million is for planning and design.


What else?

City Council will also consider whether to authorize a grant application to the governor seeking funding from a state homeland security grant to purchase needed equipment for the city’s police department.
