On Jan. 23, League City City Council will consider applying for state funds to offset the costs of the League City Police Department’s body-worn camera program.

The details

The League City Police Department is requesting approval to submit a grant application seeking $119,671 through the Body-Worn Camera Grant Program, which would cover 75% of the department’s current body-worn camera costs, according to agenda documents.

The awarded funds could be spent on body-worn cameras, unlimited cloud storage for captured videos, auto-tagging, and associated licenses required to utilize and manage the evidence collected through these cameras, according to agenda documents.
