MLK Day of Service

In honor of the MLK Grande Parade in Midtown Houston, Sugar Land officials will host a red carpet gala at The Mansion in Sugar Land, with an awards ceremony and dinner.MLK Job Fair

Harris County Precinct 4 will hold this job fair at the Bayland Community Center. Its partners include Goodwill Industries of Houston, Harris County Human Resources & Talent, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation and Harris County Public Health.Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast

The NAACP Missouri City and Vicinity Branch will host an “I Have A Dream” breakfast at the Knanaya Catholic Community Center in Missouri City. Traditional breakfast will be offered with pork sausage, turkey bacon, grits, eggs and fruit.MLK drop off and pop-up


Grace Place, a nonprofit which provides a safe and welcoming environment for vulnerable homeless youth of all sexualities and gender identities, will have a pop-up shop for its new winter merchandise and the opportunity to drop off items to stock its boutique, Tracy’s Closet. The pop-up shop will include Grace Place stickers, sweatshirts, socks, durags and bonnets. Donations accepted include hand warmers, hoodies, blankets, travel-sized toiletries, toilet paper, snacks and bottled water, and Black hair care items.Sixty Vines Brunch

The Woodlands and Rice Village locations of Sixty Vines, an American restaurant and wine bar, is open for a vineyard-inspired brunch on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It will feature items such as a maple banana french toast, egg white goat cheese frittata and Tuscan eggs benedict, paired with sustainable wines on tap and hand-crafted cocktails.
