- Two soccer fields
League City City Council approved the new sportsplex to be named “Pat Hallisey Park” at its Feb. 25 meeting.
Hallisey has been a League City resident since the early 1970s and served as League City’s mayor from 2016-22, as previously reported by Community Impact.
Hallisey was also the director of the League City and Galveston County park departments, according to a news release from the city.
Council member Tommy Cones led the charge to name the park after Hallisey.
“Pat Hallisey is probably the most deserving guy for this in League City," Cones said. "Pat ... loved his community. He worked very hard in his younger days to have a vision for League City and make League City what it is today."

Design for the park is slated to be completed by the end of February, with the bidding and contract negotiation process beginning soon after through mid-May, Wei said.
