League City is asking residents to volunteer to help clean up Clear Creek during an upcoming cleanup event on May 3.

The cleanup will take place along the banks of Clear Creek near the Dr. Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center, just west of Egret Bay Boulevard, on May 3 from 8-11 a.m., according to a news flash from the city.

The event is part of the statewide Keep Texas Waterways Clean program and the local Keep League City Beautiful initiative, which focuses on environmental beautification and conservation projects.

What you need to know


Volunteers will meet and park at the League City Public Boat Ramp,1500 N. Egret Bay Blvd., League City, and walk about a quarter-mile to the cleanup site.

Participants ages 10 and up are invited to join, but space is limited to the first 100 registered people. All volunteers will receive a complimentary t-shirt and League City-themed swag.

One more thing

Organizers recommend that participants wear long pants and rubber boots or old tennis shoes, as the cleanup area may be muddy.
