Clear Creek ISD students who are unable to afford the full price of school meals will be able to receive free or reduced-price meals for the 2025-26 school year, according to a July 31 news release from the district.

What you need to know

Reduced price meals will cost $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch, the news release notes.

The free and reduced-price meal program was established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to the news release.

Foster children, who are the legal responsibility of the state agency or court, are eligible for benefits regardless of the income of the household with whom they reside.

The details

Qualification standards are based on the number of family members and income.

Families can submit an application online through www.schoolcafe.com that includes their Eligibility Determination Group number if they are enrolled in programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Medicaid, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families; or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, according to the news release.

Those who do not have the above information must list the following:
  • Names of all household members
  • The last four digits of the social security number of primary wage earner or household member who signs the form or if the adult does not have a social security number, check the box for “No Social Security Number”
  • Last month’s income and how often it was received for each household member that receives an income
  • Signature of an adult household member attesting that the information is correct
Applications may be submitted anytime during the school year, the news release notes.
