As the 2024-25 school year came to a close, Clear Creek ISD officials reviewed end-of-year metrics with the board of trustees at its June 9 workshop.

These included results of employee and parent surveys, as well as student assessment results.

The overview

District officials presented elementary and intermediate State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, results, as well as end of course, or EOC, results.

At least over 75% of CCISD students “approached,” or passed, grade level based on STAAR scores, data shows.
Along with STAAR and EOC testing, CCISD tests elementary students in reading and language arts. The district uses the RLA curriculum program, Amplify RLA, to measure academic success through assessments, district documents note.

While scores have steadily increased for first and second grade compared to the end of the 2023-24 school year, kindergarten scores had a slight decrease, data shows.
Zooming in

District officials also shared results from high priority learning standards scores, which officials described as being more useful for measuring a student’s educational experience, according to district documents.

Each student took a pre-learning assessment to measure their proficiency in various standards, which could revolve around literacy, writing, math or social studies, among other topics, according to district documents.

Students later took another assessment after being taught the learning standards, and took one more assessment after being re-taught the standards, officials said.

Scores have increased across all subjects and grade levels comparing pre-learning and re-teach assessments, data shows. However, some grades and subjects, including elementary RLA, elementary science, intermediate math and high school math re-teach scores have dropped slightly compared to first-teach scores, data shows.
One last thing

Other notable results presented at the workshop include the following:
  • 92% of parents agree that their student’s CCISD school is a safe place to learn.
  • 84% of parents say connectCCISD, an app designed to keep parents, guardians and staff informed at both the district and campus levels, is effective for its first year.
  • 82% of teachers say they receive the student behavior support and training they need.
  • 67% overall workplace experience score, a 7% increase compared to May 2022.
The survey included topics such as the district’s communication, training, perception of fairness and inclusion, among other topics.
