2. ChikahanChef Andrew Musico brought Filipino fine dining to Houston with the city's first Filipino-inspired tasting menu restaurant. With a focus on seasonal and local ingredients, and innovative techniques, Chikahan offers a dining experience that celebrates the heritage and culinary traditions of the Philippines. One of the food courses is a reimagining of tortang talong, also known as a Filipino eggplant omelette.
3. Herand's KitchenThis Los Angeles-founded Mediterranean fusion concept relocated to the Houston Heights in fall 2024. Its menu features a blend of Persian and Mediterranean cuisine, such as skewered, marinated beef or chicken served with salad, bread, onions, herbs and grilled vegetables.
4. Me’Khun DelicaciesThis Thai-inspired restaurant in Katy features dishes such as salads, noodles and specialty dishes, including crispy whole sea bass, pink seafood hot pot and pork leg stew. Dessert options include coconut ice cream, mixed fruit and coconut milk, and sweet rice and mango, according to its menu.
This traditional Chinese cuisine-inspired restaurant opened its doors in late December in The Woodlands. Mimi Garden specializes in traditional Chinese cuisine with a focus on dumplings and bao, a type of stuffed and steamed roll. The restaurant also offers a variety of noodle, rice and wonton-based dishes.
6. Sapporo Hibachi & Sushi BarThis Japanese eatery offers hibachi stations and a variety of fresh sushi, including hand rolls, nigiri and sashimi, according to its website. The menu also features entrees such as vegetable and meat teriyaki plates, tempura items, noodles and fried rice.
