Houston Restaurant Weeks, the city's annual foodie event, is set to commemorate its 20th year from Aug. 1-Sept. 4, offering meals and deals in support of the Houston Food Bank, according to a June 1 news release.

A wide array of local restaurants are expected to participate, featuring specially priced, multicourse prix fixe menus for brunch, lunch and dinner, available for both dine-in and takeout options, the release states.

Houston Restaurant Weeks was founded in 2003 by Cleverley Stone, known as the "Diva of Dining," to support restaurants and the hospitality industry during a challenging period in August, according to the release. Prior to the project, August was a financially difficult time for restaurants.

The participating restaurants will be located across various neighborhoods, including the Galleria, Inner Loop, West Houston, East End, Midtown, Downtown, Sugar Land, Galveston and The Woodlands.

Participating restaurants will make donations based on their restaurant weeks sales, the release states. This event has raised $18.8 million to date, providing 56.4 million meals for the Houston Food Bank.

"As Houston Restaurant Weeks enters its 20th year of dining out for a cause, Houston Food Bank is grateful for the continued support of the Cleverley Stone Foundation,” Brian Greene, president and CEO of the Houston Food Bank, said in the release. “We also want to congratulate the Cleverley Stone Foundation on this special anniversary, and we look forward to being a part of this event for the next 20 years."

The meal prices and corresponding donations for 2023 are as follows:
  • Dinner: $55 meal price, $7 donation, generates 21 meals
  • Dinner: $39 meal price, $5 donation, generates 15 meals
  • Brunch: $25 meal price, $3 donation, generates nine meals
