Houston developers are going to build a nature community center in Clear Lake’s Sylvan Rodriguez Park.

What happened

Houston City Council unanimously voted at its June 3 meeting to award $888,000 to Houston-based RLDR architects to construct the community center in Clear Lake’s Sylvan Rodriguez Park, located at 1201 Clear Lake City Blvd., Houston.



The community center will be 12,000 square feet and, according to city documents, will include:
  • Meeting and exhibit space
  • Warming kitchen
  • Offices, restrooms and storage spaces
  • Expanded parking and sidewalks
  • Green-building certification
