Bay Area Habitat for Humanity will dedicate a new home in Texas City on April 16.

The public is invited to witness the dedication of the new home to a family in Texas City, according to an April 9 news release from the nonprofit.

Community Impact previously reported Habitat for Humanity serves low-income families by building new homes and repairing existing homes. Since 1976, the organization has helped 6.8 million people worldwide achieve independence and stability through affordable housing.

The home's building was made possible by both Bay Area Habitat for Humanity and sponsorships from the Moody Foundation and Marathon Petroleum, according to the release.

The public ceremony will take place on April 16 at 2:30 p.m. at 516 10th Ave. N., Texas City, and will feature a dedication ceremony, transfer of keys to the family and an opportunity to tour the home, according to the release.
