In collaboration with two local nonprofit organizations, Harris County Precinct 2 plans to hold a tree planting event of 500 trees open to volunteers at the intersection of Bay Area Boulevard and Park Shadows Trail on March 25 starting at 9 a.m., according to a release from Precinct 2.
Precinct 2 will provide land management, two-year irrigation, traffic control, signage and mowing for planted trees, whereas the Clear Lake Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will provide native plant expertise, and Trees for Houston will provide a planting plan, species management and trees, according to the release.
Future events are planned to be scheduled to plant about an additional 1,000 trees as part of the precinct's Bay Area Boulevard Reforestation Project, according to the release.
