J5 Athletics, a baseball training facility, is opening their League City location in early June, owner Jason Vandygriff told Community Impact on May 20.

The overview

The facility offers one-on-one training, cage rentals, pitching lanes along with speed, strength and agility training that is available to all ages and abilities, Vandygriff said.

The details

J5 Athletics is relocating from their Dickinson location after more than three years of business. Vandygriff said J5 outgrew the old facility and wanted a new space to continue training players.

Quote of note

“You go to a batting cage and a lot of times it sounds like a Chuck E. Cheese with kids running around,” Vandygriff said. “There's a sign on the doors of the facility, it says ‘If you’re not here to become the best baseball player you can possibly be, please do not come through these doors.’”
