Harris County investigators indict former election official, find no evidence of attempts to sway 2022 midterm elections


Less than two years after a formal investigation was launched on allegations of election irregularities in Harris County's November 2022 midterm elections, District Attorney Kim Ogg announced Aug. 13 that Darryl Blackburn, a former county election employee, was charged with six felony counts while working from home.

Gulf Coast Protection District agrees to provide 35% of design funding for portions of Coastal Texas Project


In what officials called a “major milestone” in the steps needed to strengthen Texas’ Gulf Coast defense, officials with the Gulf Coast Protection District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reached a design agreement for portions of the Coastal Texas Project.
