Murdoch’s Backyard in Cypress to reopen as upscale bistro, artisan market
The eatery will soon reopen as a new farm-to-table concept called Murdoch’s Artisan Market Bistro. Officials said they plan to open April 19 from noon-6 p.m. as the new concept continues to be rolled out.

Sugar Land finalizes plan for 370-unit mixed-use complex dubbed 'the Pearl'
The proposed development will lie along Creek Bend Drive south of Fluor Daniel Drive and promises to include 9,600 square feet of flexible coworking office space; 4,425 square feet of meeting space; and 12,000 square feet for a leasing office, a fitness and gaming center, and a cafe/coffee shop on the ground floor as well as five “live-work units.”

Tomball ISD sets sights on 20 school resource officers for 2023-24
Tomball ISD trustees approved an amendment to its contract with Harris County on April 10 to add 16 more school resource officers at the start of the upcoming 2023-24 school year, an increase from the four officers the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office began providing March 20.

Friendswood ISD will share Therapeutic Education Center with Pearland, Alvin ISDs
Friendswood ISD has agreed to serve as host to these districts’ students in its new Therapeutic Education Center. The board of trustees approved a special education shared service agreement for the Therapeutic Education Center at Friendswood during its April 10 meeting.
